Practice Areas and Experience

David Neville assists clients with a wide range of commercial real estate transactional matters, with a focus on development, redevelopment, financing and urban renewal. David has particularly extensive experience advising clients with regard to acquisitions, sales, leasing, land use and entitlement and financing. David has represented clients in multi-million dollar real estate financings and refinancings, entity formation and equity funding for real estate projects, complex multi-layered and multi-party public-private partnerships, multi-state transactions and portfolio management and local counsel advice for national and international developers and investors. David’s real estate clients include landowners, developers, institutional and private lenders, borrowers, property managers, commercial landlords and tenants, among others. David’s knowledge, experience and relationships allow him to negotiate and formulate solutions that get the deal done.

David also represents governmental and quasi-governmental entities such as urban renewal authorities and downtown development authorities in structuring complex projects and advising through all aspects of the process of getting projects out of the ground. Specifically, David advises urban renewal authorities in the process of approving new urban renewal areas through governing bodies and other taxing authorities, as well as negotiating redevelopment agreements with developers and managing planning issues with local administrations. David also assists governmental entities with matters related to the Colorado Open Records Act, the Colorado Open Meetings Law and public finance, such as special revenue bonds. Over the years David has developed excellent relationships with state and local officials and staff and David knows how to work with local governments to move projects forward.

David’s practice also emphasizes business transactions and business advice, such as buying or selling a business, business loans, raising equity, entity formation, choice of entity, starting a business and governance issues.

Prior to joining KKRDN, David practiced with a large national firm in Chicago and in the Colorado Springs office a large international law firm.  Before attending law school, David served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, CA.
